Wanted

“Wanted” is where you can ask for something specific that might be available for free or to borrow locally. It is also allowed to request to buy something pre-loved.

✅ What can I request in the Wanted section?

The Wanted section is for specific, non-food requests, items you’d like to receive for free, to borrow, or even buy second-hand. You must always be clear and specific in your request.

Examples of allowed listings:

• 🧺 “I’m looking for a collapsible laundry basket — any colour!”
• 🪑 “Wanted: fold-out camping chair for a weekend trip. Can borrow or collect.”
• 🖼 “Do you have a small frame for A4 artwork? Happy to pay for it.”

You can:

• Request to borrow items like tools, pet carriers, or party supplies (cash deposit may be requested by the lender).
• Ask to buy pre-loved goods (e.g. “Happy to pay £5 for a used blender”).

👉 Tip: Always include a photo from the internet so others can easily see what you’re after.

🚫 What can't I request in the Wanted section?

To keep Olio safe, fair, and focused on sharing, these types of requests are not allowed and your listing will be removed:

• ❌ Food: requesting food of any kind is not allowed. This includes pet food.
• ❌ Non-specific asks: e.g. “Any clothes”, “Anything unwanted”, “Surprise me”.
• ❌ Money: Olio is not a place to ask for or offer cash.
• ❌ Services: you cannot ask for help with things like plumbing, dog walking, or tutoring.
• ❌ Prohibited items: please check our Prohibited Items List before posting.

💡 Listing checklist: Before you post

• Have I clearly described the specific item I want?
• Is it a non-food item?
• Did I include a representative photo (stock image or similar)?
• Is it something someone could reasonably give away, lend or sell second-hand?
• Am I asking in a respectful way?

If the answer is “yes” to all of the above, you’re good to go!

📌 Why was my Wanted listing removed?

If your post didn’t meet the criteria above, it may have been removed to keep the platform safe and useful for everyone. Repeated misuse could lead to a warning or even account suspension, so it’s important to follow the guidelines.
