What is a Nift?
A Nift is a gift Olio users can receive when they take certain actions on Olio - such as completing their first listing or making a Food Waste Hero (FWH) collection. The Nift gifts come from a selection of Nift’s partner brands and Olio-ers can choose between one of two gifts offered to them by Nift each time.
What kind of Nift gifts will I receive?
It’s a surprise! Generally, Nift gifts are discounts or freebies from small, independent businesses - think eco-friendly goodies, tasty treats or services you might like to try. The idea is to give you something lovely as a thank-you for doing something great on Olio (like sharing food or completing a collection). You’ll get to choose from one of two Nift gifts each time and will answer a few questions about your preferences to make sure you get something that you’ll enjoy!
How do I redeem a Nift?
Click on the link in the email or in-app message you receive from Olio containing a Nift gift and follow the steps on the Nift page. You’ll need an email address for them to send you information about your gift. Nift gifts are not redeemable for cash. You can only redeem each Nift gift once.
Nift partners with online and local physical businesses. If you select a Nift gift from a physical businesses, you’ll receive a certificate that you’ll need to present to the staff upon checkout. If your Nift gift is for an online purchase, you’ll get a unique voucher code to be used on the retailer’s site.
How do I earn more Nift gifts?
Nift gifts are designed to say thank you for taking a certain action on Olio. So, the more you do on Olio, the more likely you are to get a Nift. However, you can only redeem a maximum of 1 Nift every 30 days.
How much time do I have to redeem my Nift?
Once you select your Nift gift, it will be valid for 30 days with the gifting partner. The deadline to redeem your Nift gift will be in your gift confirmation email. There may be additional rules or restrictions on individual Nift gifts.
Are the Nift gifts free?
Some Nift gifts are completely free whereas for others you’ll need to pay shipping, or will get a voucher towards a larger gift. You’ll always get to choose one of two gifts, so you can find something that you’ll truly enjoy.
What’s the value of a Nift gift?
The minimum value of a Nift gift is £30, if the value of the gift you select is less than £30 you’ll receive a follow up email from Nift with the option to choose a second gift to meet the minimum £30 value. The total value of the gifts you receive may exceed £30.
Why Olio is partnering with Nift?
We’re always looking for ways to thank our amazing community and Nift allows us to do just that. It’s a way for us to send you little gifts to show our appreciation for your contribution to the Olio community. Olio also makes a small amount of money when Olio-ers select a Nift gift, this helps contribute towards the costs of running the Olio app so we can fulfil our waste busting mission.
How does Olio ensure Nift gifts are in line with Olio's ethos?
Olio does not have full control of the gifts offered to you on the Nift platform. We’ll be working with Nift to exclude products that are damaging to the planet and don’t align with Olio’s ethos, and review new gifts on the Nift platform on a regular basis. We might not be able to immediately catch and remove all the gifts that don’t align with Olio’s mission, if you spot a gift that you think shouldn’t be offered, let us know by filling out our feedback form here.
Who is eligible for a Nift?
Currently, Nift gifts are only available to Olio-ers in the UK. Nift operates in the UK, US and Canada and we are currently trialling Nift gifts in the UK.
How many Nifts can a user redeem?
A user can redeem a maximum of 1 Nift every 30 days.
Can I opt out of getting offered a Nift gift by Olio?
Currently in this testing phase, you’re not able to specifically opt out of being offered a Nift gift from Olio. However, this is something we will be looking into if we decide to roll out Nift more widely for Olio-ers. When selecting your Nift, you’re opting in to receive communications from Nift and the partner brand. To manage your communication preferences with Nift and their partner brands please follow the instructions on your communications with Nift/ the partner brands directly.
Do I need to give my personal information to Nift?
Nift will ask you to share your name and email with Nift to receive your gift. If you select a gift you’ll opt to share your email with the partner brand in order to receive it. You can also share preference information to allow them to match you with the best gift. You can ask Nift to delete your personal information in the system at any time. Will Olio share my data with Nift?
The only data Nift will have is the data you share with them yourself when selecting your Nift. To manage your communication preferences with Nift and their partner brands please follow the instructions on your communications directly with Nift/ the partner brands.
