🕒 How do collection timings work at Iceland?
Since the introduction of Lucky Dip, there’s even more happening in Iceland stores at the end of each day!
Iceland stores now follow a set timing schedule, where everything is planned backwards from the store’s closing time. This ensures all end-of-day steps fit together smoothly.
Example schedule (for a store closing at 9:00pm):
📝 8:00 pm – Store completes waste process and confirms Lucky Dip & Food Waste Hero (1 hour before closing)
🛍 8:30 – 8:45 pm – Lucky Dip purchase window (starts 30 minutes before closing)
🤝 8:45 pm – Food Waste Hero collection (15 minutes before closing)
⏰ 9:00 pm – Store closes
If your store closes earlier, just count back from closing - everything stays in the same order, based on the store’s own closing time (or latest 9:00 pm).
The rules:
📝 Confirmation: 1 hour before closing (or latest 8:00 pm)
🛍 Lucky Dip purchase window: Starts 30 minutes before closing
🤝 Food Waste Hero collection: 15 minutes before closing
⏰ Closing time: The store’s usual closing time, or latest 9:00 pm
❗Remember: Work backwards from 9pm if your store closes after this time.
