What are these giveaways?
We’re running a series of giveaways with friendly brands we think our community of Olio-ers will love (think B Corps and other mission-driven companies).
We’re designing these giveaways to encourage more people to add and request things on Olio each month.
That way, we can champion companies we think are doing great things and get more people using Olio - while offering our users the chance to win awesome stuff for free🎁
Why are we doing this?
Making sure our users are frequently adding and requesting personal items on Olio - alongside the incredible work of our Food Waste Heroes - is a really important part of keeping our community thriving, growing and happy.
We’re confident these giveaways will be a great way to encourage more people to engage with the app in this way 🙌
What do I need to do to enter?
1. Add or request one non-food, personal listing on Olio* during the giveaway dates, which we’ll specify in our newsletter at the start of each month.
*Note: Completing this action once is what counts as your entry. Subsequent activity doesn't give you extra entries.
2. Make sure you’ve entered your details on the partner's dedicated sign-up page for the giveaway, which we’ll also share in our newsletter.
3. Important ⚠️Participants need to enter the giveaway with the same email address that’s associated with their Olio account (check this in the top right-hand app menu, under Settings > Account > Email Address).

What listings are eligible for the giveaway?
Only non-food, personal listings are eligible (think clothes, furniture, or anything else you're sharing or requesting that isn't food).
In this case, Food Waste Hero listings don't count towards entry.
Why do Food Waste Hero Listings not count?
That isn’t to say we’re not incredibly grateful for everything our Food Waste Heroes do to rescue surplus food.
But these listings already make up 83% of our listings on the app each month. Right now, we're focussed on getting more people adding personal listings, and more people requesting those listings - so everyone has a good experience.
What happens to my data if I share it with the partner brand?
Our partner brands handle any data you share with them (like your email address) in line with GDPR, the same way Olio does. You can check each partner's own privacy policy on their sign-up page for the details.
Do I need to be in a specific country to enter?
It depends on the giveaway: some of our partners run these worldwide, others are UK-only. Check the terms shared in the newsletter feature or on the partner's sign-up page for exact details.
What if I don't win?
Don't worry - some of our partners also offer a discount code for the whole Olio community, whether you win or not. Keep an eye on the newsletter feature for any extra perks like this.
