Olive Dining: General information

If the Kitchen does not pick up the phone? 

Please google the school phone number and explain to the reception that you’re unable to get through to the kitchen. They should be able to either connect you to the kitchen or let you know if food is available. Please also let the squad know & fill out an Issue report form available at the Volunteer Hub

If the Kitchen always says that there’s no food available? 

Please ask if there are any other days when there’s surplus food to be collected. If there are other days that may suit that school better, let the squad know & fill out an Issue report form available at the Volunteer Hub

If you call or attend the collection and the receptionist informs you that they are not aware of Olio?

Please let them know that Olio has a contract with their kitchen caterer Olive Dining to collect surplus food donations once a week and ask them to direct you to the kitchen. If there are any issues following this, then please ask them to contact the kitchen manager. Please also let the squad know & fill out an Issue report form available at the Volunteer Hub.  

If the kitchen informs you that they are not aware of the Olio collection?

This should not occur as the kitchen staff should be familiar with Olio food donations, however, if it does then please let them know that Olio has a contract with Olive Dining to collect surplus food from their kitchen. Try to get the name of the kitchen staff member that you spoke with, along with the name of the Kitchen Manager. Let them know that you are able to take any food items. Please also let the squad know & fill out an Issue report form available at the Volunteer Hub

If the kitchen gives you all of the food in large containers or says they don’t have individual containers?

Olive Dining arranged the delivery of individual containers to all of the schools we’re partnered with, so they should give the food to you in individual containers. If they give you larger containers or mix any dishes within the same containers, then please let them know this. If they say they’ve run out of containers, then please ask them to contact Olive Dining, who’ll arrange the delivery of more. Please also let the squad know & fill out an Issue report form available at the Volunteer Hub

If I would like to report an issue with my collection?
