Food Waste Hero leaderboard

1. How is the leaderboard calculated?

Our leaderboard highlights the top 100 volunteers and top 100 postcodes in the UK & Ireland based on how many items have been shared through the Olio app in the past month. Each item you share on the app from one of your Food Waste Hero collections counts toward your total. The results are refreshed monthly so everyone has a fair chance to appear on the leaderboard.

2. Where can I find the leaderboard?

You can view the leaderboard in the landing page section of your Volunteer dashboard. You can also access the Volunteer hub from the app by clicking the top right menu and selecting the first option in the drop down menu.

When clicking on the Leaderboard URL, you can access both the volunteer and postcode leaderboards.

3. Why is the leaderboard only showing volunteers and postcodes that share the most items?

We want to shine the spotlight on those who have shared the largest quantities of surplus food in the last month and therefore had the biggest impact on their local community recently.

We know this is not a perfect system and there are many ways to measure and recognise our volunteers' impact, so we might add additional leaderboards in the future.

We truly believe that every contribution matters—whether you shared one item or one hundred, you have helped the community and the environment and we are extremely grateful for your support.

4. Where can I share my thoughts and feedback on the feature?
