Reduced food lets you discover reduced-to-clear items from local shops and supermarkets, sourced straight from each retailer's own systems. Spot a deal, keep an eye on it, then pop into the store to buy it, saving money and cutting food waste along the way. You'll find reduced food under Home, or under Search by selecting reduced food under Type.

Add any item to your Watchlist by tapping the star icon on its listing, then find it later in your Watchlist on the side menu. Saving an item doesn't reserve it. Once it's gone it shows as sold out, then drops off automatically at the end of the day.

Items refresh roughly every 5 minutes, so you're always seeing what's on the shelves right now.

On the Search page, tap the Type filter to narrow reduced food by category and store, then tap Apply.

With notifications on, we'll send a daily alert about new reduced food at your preferred stores (the ones in your filters). Customise or switch these off in the notifications section of the main menu.

We currently receive deals from around 300 stores across the UK and we're expanding fast. If there's nothing near you yet, hang tight. Because participating stores change regularly, the best way to keep up is to check the app and set notifications for new items near you.

The items shown in the app won't exactly match what's in your FWH collection at the end of the day, because:

If a business that offers FWH collections also joins reduced food, there may sometimes be less in your collection. Across Olio as a whole, though, we expect reduced food to bring more businesses on board, so more food is redistributed through the Food Waste Heroes Programme overall.
