Life happens - and that's fine. Whether you're unwell, away, or something's come up last minute, you can skip a collection in just a few taps. Another charity or Food Waste Hero can then cover your slot, so the food still gets saved.
How to skip your collection on the day
If something's come up last minute, you can skip directly from your app home screen by declining the collection offer.
Please decline any collection you can't make - it opens your slot so someone else can step in and the food doesn't go to waste.
On the day, up to 1 hour before your collection time, follow these steps:
How to skip your slot in advance (temp close your charity)
You can skip up to 6 weeks ahead from the Volunteer Hub - on your phone or a computer. You'll need to do this separately for each collection slot. For example, if you collect from store A on Monday, store B on Tuesday, and store A again on Wednesday, you'll need to repeat this process 3 times.

The process is the same on desktop via volunteers.olioex.com - and you may find it easier on a larger screen.
Follow the same steps: go to Volunteer Hub, open My Collections, find your slot, and tap Skip.
What if I need to skip more than 6 weeks?
Right now you can only see 6 weeks ahead in the Volunteer Hub. If you need to skip further than that, get in touch with us and we'll sort it for you.
