Types of collection slots

What different types of collection slots are there?

There are two different types of collection slots: ongoing and one-off collection slots.

As the names suggest, 'ongoing' slots have a start date and no end date. They might happen daily, once a week, once every two weeks, or once a month. If you claim a collection as an 'ongoing' collection, the collection will be assigned to you until you step down, or if the business stops working with Olio on your collection day/time. 

You can also claim 'one-off' collections. These are collections that only happen once. You can claim a collection as a one-off when a fellow Food Waste Hero has skipped or paused one of their collections. 

We appreciate that you may want to try out the collection before committing to it on an ongoing basis, or you may only be able to do the collection now and then. Therefore, you can also claim the first instance of an ongoing collection as a one-off.  For example: if there is an ongoing collection with a start date of the 8th of May, you’ll have the option to claim the collection on the 8th of May only as a one-off.
