For now, Add Collection can only be used by Food Waste Heroes, for their Food Waste Hero collections. It can't be used for charity collections or personal listings.We're rolling Add Collection out to Food Waste Heroes in phases from late September, over a couple of weeks. Make sure you've downloaded the most updated app version, then you'll see "Add Collection" in your + menu when it reaches you, so if it's not there yet, it's on its way.

Up to 50 listings per batch, with up to 10 photos per listing, and a quantity of up to 500 items on a single listing.

The Add Collection tool drafts a title and a description for each listing from your photos, and you can review and edit all of it before anything goes live. However, the only information that the tool adds to the description is the date, when it finds one in your photos. Nothing else.

The description is yours for anything else a requester needs to know. For example, for an item with no date on the packaging, tap the listing on the review screen and add something like "No Date on packaging, collected 18/9/26". Use it for anything else worth flagging too, like the fillings in a bundle of sandwiches and the quantity you have of each filling type you have (if you’d like).

For anything that applies to your whole batch, like when and where to collect, please use the Pick-up instructions field instead.

Olio reads Use By and Best Before dates. Display Until dates aren't picked up, because they're a shop's stock control tool rather than a food safety date.

Treat an item that only has a Display Until date exactly as you'd treat an item with no date at all. Check it still looks, smells and feels good, and if so, then tap the listing on the review screen and add "no date label, collected on [date]".

Please don't use a Display Until date as if it were a Best Before date, as it shortens how long the item can actually be shared for.

Nothing goes live until you tap Post, and the review screen is there for exactly this. Olio drafts each listing for you, but you're the one who checks it, so please read through your drafts before you post, the same way you'd check a listing you'd written yourself. You are responsible for making sure your listings are correct.

The date matters most. Make sure the Use By or Best Before date is clearly visible in at least one photo on every listing that has one, and that the date in the draft matches the label. If a draft has it wrong, tap the listing on the review screen and correct it before posting.

If something does slip through after you've posted, you can edit the listing in the usual way from My Listings in the main menu.

You set "List for" once, on the pick-up details screen, and it applies to every listing in that batch. However, if one listing needs a different time, tap it on the review screen and change "List for" there.

The easiest approach is to sort before you start, so that everything in a batch uses the same setting. For example, post your Use By item(s) as one batch and your Best Before item(s) as another, so a single setting suits the whole batch with nothing to edit.

Yes to both. Everything is editable on the review screen at the end, so if you miss a quantity or spot a typo while you're photographing, keep going and fix it there. You can change the title, description, quantity or "List for" duration, add more photos, or remove any listing you don't want.

No, not in Add Collection. When you tap Post, your listings go live straight away. Nothing's visible to anyone until that moment though, and your batch saves automatically as you go, so you can prep everything in advance and post when the time's right.

No, the quantity doesn't count down as people request things. It tells Olio how many items one listing covers (3 identical loaves = 1 listing with a quantity of 3), which is how we work out the impact of what you share. It isn't shown on the listing, and you manage requests exactly as you do now.

Please finish one batch before you start another. A saved batch belongs to the collection you chose at the start, so if you're collecting from two businesses on the same run, post the first batch, then start a fresh one for the second.

Doing two batches from the same collection is fine, and it's what we'd recommend, i.e. splitting your Use By and Best Before item(s) into two batches. Just post one before you start the next.

No problem, you'll see a prompt to retry on that listing. Everything needs to be ready before you can post, so nothing ever goes live half finished.

If one listing still won't load after a retry, delete it on the review screen and post the others, then add that one on its own in the usual way.

When you tap Post, Olio shares all your ready listings at once. If any don't go through, you'll see how many failed, with a Retry option to try the failed ones again, so there's no need to redo the whole batch.

Nothing's changed here, the usual rules still apply. Only share food that's safe to share, and make sure the Use By or Best Before date of each item is clear in the listing photos.

Just as it does now. If you want to keep a tally of who's collecting how many items when you confirm pick-ups, use Baskets as usual: when you confirm someone's pick-up you'll still get your Manage Quantity prompt, and Baskets will keep tracking who's collecting how many.
